This is a rare opportunity for a Groups, Conference & Events Director to lead a busy, high-profile events operation at one of London’s luxury hotels.
Reporting into the Commercial Director and Hotel Manager, you’ll take ownership of the full Conference & Events operation — leading two direct reports with a wider a team of 10 experienced professionals, and handling everything from reactive sales through to planning.
You will need to be a strong stakeholder manager who will build strong cross-departmental relationships from day one.
Only candidates with relevant experience from a busy conference and events department will be considered!

The role of the Groups, Conference & Events Director

  • Develop and implement strategic event plans to achieve organisational goals.
  • Coordinate planning, execution, and logistics of Groups, conferences, meetings, and special events
  • Manage event budgets, tracking expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, meetings, trade shows, and special events
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and venues to secure services and resources for events
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on proposals, site inspections, RFPs, diary management and account management
  • Conducts all client menu tastings, site visits and planning meetings once handover from Commercial team is completed
  • Ensures all Terms and Conditions are signed and received alongside contract prior to handover from Commercial team
  • Ensure seamless execution of events, including setup, logistics, catering, and technical support.
  • On-site management of events including management of team members, briefings and live trouble shooting
